Sunset Talk

Sunset can be a spectacular time to come and view what the park has to offer. Watch the sunset and while you do, a ranger will talk to you about what makes this park so special. Meet by the bathrooms out at the Dead Horse Point Overlook at 6:15pm. We will be walking a little ways down the west rim trail. You are welcome to bring a chair if you would like.

Star Party

Being an International Dark Sky Park we have some amazing night sky views. Join us as we talk about the stars, constellations, and deep space objects seen in the night sky. Meet in the Visitor Center parking lot at 8pm.

Bat’s Incredible! Bat talk

Home to several different bat species, Dead Horse Point State Park is a wonderful place to come and see these amazing flying mammals. Come and learn more about them during our bat talk taking place outside the Visitor Center at 7:15pm.

Full Moon Hike

Walk by the light of the full moon and learn more about the moon and the night life here at Dead Horse Point State Park. This is a 1 mile hike on dirt and rock trail so please wear appropriate footwear. We will meet in front of the Visitor Center at 7pm.

Walk our mile long trail under the light of the full moon as a park ranger shares with you some facts about the moon and what might go bump in the night. Meet in front of the Visitor Center at 7pm. The trail is a dirt and rock path so please wear appropriate footwear.

Bat’s Incredible! Bat talk

As we get closer to the celebration of Halloween join us for another night of learning more about the amazing bat species that call Dead Horse Point State Park home. We will meet at the Visitor Center at 7pm and will take a short quarter of a mile walk as we talk about the bats.

Spooktacular Star Party

Join us as we get ready for Halloween. During this spooktacular event we will tour the constellations and stars talking about some of the more spooky or strange stories that are told about our night skies. Meet in the Visitor Center parking lot at 7:30pm.
