Park Ranger

Non-Law Enforcement Rangers are key assets in the operation of Utah State Parks and our programs. These rangers work hard to raise awareness about responsible recreation practices and engage directly with the public at our beautiful parks.
They help organize guided hikes, interact with the public at educational events, raise awareness about the importance of protecting our natural resources, and much more!
When a park ranger position opens up, it will be placed on the state jobs website (applicant must apply there to be considered for an interview). Once on the state jobs website, sort open jobs by job title. If you find “PARK RANGER”, we have an opening and you must complete the application on this site before the closing date.
Maintenance and Construction
Rangers aren’t the only ones who get to work in Utah’s state parks.
Our maintenance and construction teams help keep our parks and recreation areas alive. These valuable employees help design and construct parking lots, campgrounds, cabins and more.
They also ensure park vehicles and machinery run smoothly.
These employees are located across the state. These include positions at the Utah State Parks headquarters in Salt Lake City, region crews at each region office, and some are even stationed at specific parks and recreation areas.

Becoming a member of our seasonal and part-time team offer employees exciting and engaging ways to become familiar with park operations, customer service, educational outreach, tours, and much more.
Seasonal workers gain valuable experience while working at parks and many of them continue on to full-time positions with us.
