Campsite Reservations

Campsite reservations are booked through Reserve America. Individual campsites are available for reservation on a four-month rolling basis. For example, on January 10 individual sites are available for reservation through May 10. Group sites are available for reservation on an 11-month rolling basis. You can book a maximum of 13 days beyond the last date of the reservation window. All reservations are charged an $8 reservation fee. For more information please contact our Reservation Call Center at 800-322-3770 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) Monday through Friday. The call center is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. For reservations less than two days in advance, please contact the park directly.

Length of Stay

Length of stay is generally limited to 14 days within any 30-day period. Stay periods may be extended with permission from the park manager.

Payment and Payment Methods

Payment is required at the time a reservation is made. Payments can be made by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and debit card.

Check-in, Check-out

Check-in time at parks is from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m (2:00 p.m. at Sand Hollow). Check-out time is generally 2:00 p.m. (noon at Wasatch Mountain, Bear Lake, Dead Horse Point, Goblin Valley, Huntington, Jordanelle, Millsite, Palisade, Quail Creek, Hyrum, Sand Hollow and Scofield).

No Show and Late Arrival

If you do not occupy your reserved campsite by 10 a.m. on the day after the scheduled arrival date, the site may be made available to other campers. Please contact the park for their specific No Show and Late Arrival rules. Most parks do not allow access after 10 p.m. If you must arrive late, notify the park.

Confirmation

A reservation confirmation will be emailed to you with your customer and reservation confirmation numbers, campground information, arrival and departure dates, park rules and reservation policies. This confirmation number will be used to reference your reservation when making any changes.

Changes

Changes to an existing reservation can only be made by contacting the Reserve America Reservation Call Center at 800-322-3770. Changes can be made up to two days prior to your scheduled arrival date and incur a $5 change fee per site.

Cancellations

Cancellations are accepted online 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or by calling the Reserve America Reservation Call Center Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) at 800-322-3770.  Individual site cancellations made four days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8.00 cancellation fee in addition to the $8.00 reservation fee.  Cancellations made less than four days in advance forfeit one night’s fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees.

Group area cancellations made 14 days or more in advance of your scheduled arrival incur an $8.00 cancellation fee in addition to the $10.25 reservation fee. Cancellations made less than 14 days in advance forfeit one night’s fee in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees.

Utah Firewood Quarantine (R68-23)

Importation of firewood from quarantined areas of the United States (U.S.) and Canada into Utah is prohibited, unless the shipment is certified as heat treated or meets the standards of other precautionary rules set by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF). If importing firewood, contact the state department of agriculture from the area of origin to obtain a certificate.

Buying local firewood, harvested in Utah, is the simplest way to ensure that no invasive pests will be transmitted to the state. Check the label on the firewood to see where it originated. If it was harvested in Utah, the product meets the quarantine.  Firewood harvested from out-of-state quarantined areas is acceptable if the label states that it has been heat-treated. Contact UDAF if firewood for sale is not labeled.

Hunting

Multiple state parks are open to hunting. However, parks vary on types of game that can be taken. All hunting within state parks must comply with Utah law, federal law, DWR rules, and all county and city ordinances regulating hunting, weapons and shooting.

The state park property boundaries can be found on the Utah Hunt Planner on the DWR website along with hunting rules.

Firearms

Firearms or dangerous weapons may not be discharged from an automobile or other vehicles, roads, public utility facilities, railroad equipment, campsites, park buildings, picnic sites, overlooks, golf courses, boat ramps, or developed beaches. They also cannot be discharged within 600 feet of a house, dwelling, or other building – including a barn, corral, or stockyard.
