Have you ever wondered what it’s like to protect and explore Utah’s incredible state parks? Now is your chance to step into a ranger’s boots! Our Junior Ranger Program offers a hands-on way for visitors of all ages to discover, learn, and play.
Multiple Utah State Parks participate in this exciting program, making it the perfect addition to your next family adventure.
While designed with younger explorers in mind, the Junior Ranger Program welcomes adults to participate, too. It’s a great, collaborative way for families to explore Utah's natural wonders together.

How to Participate
Getting started is easy and accessible for everyone:

Pick Up a Booklet: Purchase a physical activity booklet at any participating park visitor center, or download and print one online for before your trip.

Complete the Activities: Explore the park to complete fun, educational activities tailored to that specific location.

Earn Your Badge: Bring your completed booklet back to the visitor center. A park official will review your work, administer the official Junior Ranger Pledge, and award you your official badge!

Every park offers a unique experience, but you can look forward to activities such as:
- Identifying wildlife and animal tracks
- Interactive park-wide scavenger hunt
- Matching local leaves, plants, and trees
- Learning about cultural history and conservation
