Brilliantly blue waters combined with sandy beaches are what call park visitors to play, fish, boat, sail, and camp here at Bear Lake State Park. Minerals (calcium carbonate) suspended in the lake’s waters, reflecting back the sunlight, are what help create its spectacular aqua-blue color.
Located in the beautiful Bear Lake Valley in Rich County, there are three distinct recreation areas — State Marina, Rendezvous Beach, and the park’s Eastside areas —which offer a variety of recreational opportunities. Whether you plan on visiting for a day, weekend, or more, Bear Lake offers some of the best picnicking, camping, boating, fishing, sailing, or hiking that you will find in the great state of Utah.
3 Distinct Areas of the Park
Marina: Located on the north end of Garden City and the location of the park’s office. This area provides access to the lake with a seven (7) lane launch ramp. There is also a small beach area on the north side of the Marina. The Marina has 361 long-term boat slips, which are rent from May 1 to October 31. Twenty one (21) boat slips can be rented by the night.
Rendezvous Beach: Accessible near the southwest “corner” of Bear Lake, Rendezvous Beach is separated into four (4) distinct campgrounds, as well as the day use beach area. The campgrounds are Birch, Big Creek, Cottonwood, and Willow.
Eastside: Along the east side of Bear Lake. Accessed via Cisco Road – Includes the areas known as First Point, South Eden, Cisco Beach, Rainbow Cove, and North Eden. Distances vary from four miles to 13 miles north on Cisco Road from Laketown and the Cisco Road and SR 30 Junction.

Bear Lake Marina Expansion
The Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management, in partnership with the Utah Department of Natural Resources, is planning to begin construction of an expansion to the Bear Lake marina in early 2025. The 2005 Bear Lake State Park Resource Management Plan originally identified the need for Marina expansion to accommodate additional visitors through expanded boat ramps and additional slip availability.
