2026 Scheduled Events

January 2026

Winter 4 x 4 Jamboree
January 16, 17, 18, 19

Off roading event put on by Desert Roads and Trails.

Police Training
January 6 and 13

Vehicle training will be occurring at the main boat ramp parking lot. Please refrain from entering into the coned off area. The boat ramp and the cliff jumping rock area will be available for use.

NOTIFICATION OF UPCOMING EVENT RESTRICTIONS FOR SAND HOLLOW STATE PARK: Due to this event, certain areas within the park will be restricted for those participating in the event. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Certain campsites and campgrounds will need to be reserved through the event itself.

Volleyball tournament on the southern end of the reservoir near the Sandpit Campground.

Sand Hollow Triatholon
May 16

Multi-sport endurance race consisting of three sequential disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running. The competition is held against a continuous clock, meaning the timer starts at the beginning of the swim and does not stop until the athlete crosses the finish line. The park’s main boat ramp and reservoir will have a lot of activity during this scheduled event.

NOTIFICATION OF UPCOMING EVENT RESTRICTIONS FOR SAND HOLLOW STATE PARK: Due to this event the following closures and restricted Park access will affect the following area’s in the park. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

  • May 16th the main boat ramp will be closed from 6 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m. 
Sand Hollow

June 2026

Fish and Fun
June 6

Sponsored fishing event put on for individuals with disabilities. The boat ramp will remain open during the event but there will be more activity than normal for a few hours in the morning.

July 2026

America 250 Celebration
July 4th

Celebrate America’s 250th birthday at Sand Hollow State Park, featuring Hurricane City’s spectacular annual fireworks display hosted at the Cliff Jumping Rocks. This milestone celebration will include a wide range of park activities and premier local food vendors stationed throughout the grounds for a memorable holiday experience.

Search and Rescue Conference
September 17 – 19

Training conference for Utah’s Search and Rescue members. Training obstacles will be throughout the entire park and on Sand Mountain.

October 21-25
