Fishing Tournament

Fishermen will be using the main boat ramp and reservoir. Reservoir access for the general public will remain open.

March 2025

Lake to Lake
March 1

Park will remain open and will have minor impact on the park. Running relay and ultra marathon event starting at Gunlock State Park and ending at Sand Hollow State Park.

Off-Road Games
March 19 – 23

The Park is extremely busy during this event, large participation crowds. OHV Staging area will be full of vendors and the beach area of the park will be utilized heavily. Sand Mountain will be used for this event but still open to the general public.

Police Vehicle Training
March 31-April 17 (excluding Saturdays and Sundays)

Emergency vehicle training at the northern end of the main boat ramp parking lot. No closures occurring

Utah Tech Veteran’s Poker Run
April 12

Motorcycles will drive through four Utah State Parks to raise money for college tuition for veterans.

Iron Man– North America Championship
May 9 – 10

Swim/Bike/Run Event. The boat ramp will be closed starting Friday, May 9th and go through the afternoon of May 10th. The southern boat ramp will be open and accessible only on May 9th.

NOTIFICATION OF UPCOMING EVENT RESTRICTIONS FOR SAND HOLLOW STATE PARK: Due to the Ironman Event the following closures and restricted park access will affect the following area’s in the park. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

May 9th the main boat ramp will be closed. Boaters are welcome to use the South Ramp with caution.
May 10th the main boat ramp will be closed from 06:00 am until approximately 2:00 pm.
May 10th the entire southside and east side of the park to include; Sand Hollow Rentals, OHV Staging, Day Use, Sandpit Campground, Lakeview Campground and all Primitive campers will not be able to exit or enter the park from 06:30 – 11:00 am.

May 30 and 31

The Stars & Stripes Firework Show
July 4

Firework show presented by Hurricane City and Red Rock Media. Fireworks show will go off from the cliff jumping rocks area. There will be food trucks, vendors, and other misc. activities starting in the evening.

NOTIFICATION OF UPCOMING EVENT RESTRICTIONS FOR SAND HOLLOW STATE PARK: Due to the this event, the main boat ramp will be in a hard closure from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Once the firework show is over, boats can use the launch ramp. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Training conference for Utah Search and Rescue members. Training obstacles will be throughout the entire park.
