Sunset Talk

While the sun begins to lower itself below the horizon, join a ranger as they talk about the amazing things inside and outside the park. Meet by the bathrooms at the Dead Horse Point Overlook at 5pm. We will be walking a little ways down the west rim trail before getting to our spot.

Ever wondered what stories are associated with the stars? Come learn more about the stars and the stories associated with them. Dress warm and meet in the Visitor Center parking lot. Program starts at 7:30pm.

Sunset Talk

Sunset is one of the most popular times here at Dead Horse Point State Park. Come see why and learn more about the park and the geology that it’s built on. We will be meeting at the Dead Horse Point Overlook at 5:30pm. We will be walking about a quarter of a mile down the west rim trail until we get to our spot.

*Full Moon Hike

Join one of our rangers on a 1 mile hike under the light of the full moon. Meet outside the Visitor Center at 8:00pm. Be ready for cooler weather and wear good shoes as the hike will be on a rock and dirt trail.

What is the night life like at Dead Horse Point? Come learn more about it in this ranger-led hike under the full moon. The hike will be 1 mile long and will be on a dirt and rock trail. Please bring appropriate footwear. We will meet in front of the Visitor Center at 8:00pm.

*Star Party

Join us for the first star party of the year!! We will have stargazing, constellation touring, and telescope viewing. The party starts at 8:30pm in the parking lot of the Visitor Center. Try to arrive 10-15 minutes early and get ready for a spectacular night.

Come and learn more about the stars, their stories, and some of the deep space objects in the night sky. Join our rangers for a night under the stars where we will do a constellation tour and then look through telescopes at some out of this world objects!! Meet in the Visitor Center Parking lot at 8:30pm. Try to arrive 10-15 minutes early.
