Park Rules & Regulations

Please refer to the following rules and regulations while visiting Jordanelle State Park.

General Park Rules

  • Day Use is 6 AM to 10 PM
  • Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) use is prohibited.
  • All Utah Boating Laws are strictly enforced.
  • Explosives, fireworks and firecrackers are prohibited.
  • No discharge of firearms allowed in developed park areas. Refer to proclamation for hunting and fishing guidelines.
  • Fires are permitted in designated pits only. No ground fires are allowed.
  • Firewood gathering is prohibited.
  • PITCH-IT-IN! Please use trash receptacles and recycling bins provided.
  • Park in designated areas only. Park on pavement only. ALL tires must be ON pavement. Violators may be cited and/or towed. 
  • Dogs must be on a 6′ or shorter leash and attended to at all times. Pets are prohibited from public buildings. 
  • Service dogs are always welcome. 
  • All pet waste must be cleaned up and disposed of properly.
  • Drones are permitted for personal use only with permit and approval from park management.
  • Metal detecting is permitted with permit and approval from park management.
  • Vehicles must remain on designated roads. NO motor vehicle use allowed on beaches or shoreline. 


  • Check-in: 3 PM
  • Check-out: 12 PM 
  • Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM
  • Camping is only allowed in designated areas. 
  • No primitive camping is allowed. 
  • No sleeping in vehicles in parking lots. 
  • Only 1 RV and 1 tent OR 2 tents per campsite. Tents must be on designated tent pads or on asphalt. 
  • No trailers or RVs allowed in McHenry campground. pop-up trailers, tear drop trailers, and cab over campers are allowed. 
  • Generators are prohibited during quiet hours.
  • 8 persons, 1 vehicle per campsite. 
  • 1 extra vehicle is allowed for an additional fee per site, per night. 
  • Damage or large messes left, such as grease, broken glass, garbage, etc., may result in a fee charged to the credit card on file.
  • It is unlawful to dump or drain wastewater from campers or trailers onto the ground or into lakes and streams. 
  • No portable hot tubs allowed. 
  • Camping on boats is allowed for a fee. Vessels must have a marine toilet, be anchored off-shore at least 40 feet, and must display a 360 all-around white light while anchored.


  • Check-in: 3 PM
  • Check-out: 12 PM 
  • Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM
  • No smoking in any lodging. 
  • Cleaning procedures required before checkout. 
  • Pets are allowed with an additional fee in designated lodging. 
  • No cooking inside lodgings except in the microwave. 
  • Furniture must remain inside each lodging unit. 
  • Failure to follow rules may result in additional fees being charged to the credit card on file.
  • Reservation fee covers 1 vehicle. 1 Extra vehicle is allowed if space permits. Extra Vehicle fee is per night. 

Day Use 

  • Day Use is 6AM to 10 PM
  • Cabana reservations cover the entrance fee for 1 vehicle only. All others are required to pay an entrance fee.
  • Pavilion reservations cover the entrance for 5 vehicles. All others are required to pay an entrance fee. 75 People maximum.
  • Fires are permitted in the developed pedestal grills or developed fire pits only. No ground fires or firewood gathering allowed in the park. Please dump hot briquettes in designated dump pits. 
  • Courtesy boat docks have a 15-minute limit for loading and unloading. 
  • Swimming, fishing, picnicking, sunbathing and camping are prohibited on the docks. 
  • Swimming inside the marina is prohibited.
  • Stay On Designated Trails. It is unlawful to create your own trails. 
  • ALL trails are non-motorized use only. Please practice trail courtesy. 
  • Hiking, biking, and horseback riding is allowed on all trails. 
  • All plants, animals, minerals and other natural features in state parks are protected. It is unlawful to remove, alter or destroy them. 
  • Jordanelle dam is a restricted area. Access to the dam is prohibited. Motorized and non-motorized vessels, along with swimmers must remain outside of the No Trespassing buoys near the dam.
