Oregon Grape

Oregon Grape grows in clusters of bright yellow flowers in the spring, and ripen into blue-black berries in th elate summer and fall. The Oregon Grape is well known as a source of medicine. Both the roots and stembark contain the chemical berberine, an alkaloid that can bestow various beneficial effects. Oregon Grape berries are tart but not poisonous.
