July 4, Independence Day Constellation Tour and S’mores! Amphitheater, 9:30PM

Stars and Constellations! Join rangers to learn about the stars, the constellations and mythology associated with them. We will have s’mores afterwards or propane stove if possible.

July 11, Scorpion Quest! Amphitheater, 9:30PM

Learn about these amazing desert critters and then search for them on a short hike with park rangers!

July 18, Star Party! Observation Point, 9:30PM

Join rangers to learn about stars, mythology and the constellations! We will view various sky objects through telescopes after the program.

July 25, Sunset Hike- Desert after Dark! Observation Point, 8:30PM

Join rangers on a short hike in the magical evening hours while learning about the amazing nocturnal wildlife that live in the park.

July 29, Full Moon Hike! Observation Point, 8:45PM

Join rangers for a short hike through the hoodoos under the light of the full moon! You will learn about the moon, nocturnal wildlife and other park information

July 31, World Ranger Day Scavenger Hunt! All day, drop-in activity.

Celebrate the work and sacrifice of rangers around the world with a fun scavenger hunt. Stop by the visitor center for hunt details, and complete on your own (need to return to the visitor center before 5pm). Those who complete the hunt will earn a special prize.

August

August 1, Sunset Hike- Wildlife of Goblin Valley, 8:30PM

Join rangers on a short hike in the magical evening hours while learning about the amazing wildlife that live in the park.

August 8, Star Party! Observation Point, 9:30PM

Join rangers to learn about stars, mythology and the constellations! We will view various sky objects through telescopes after the program.

August 15, Scorpion Quest! Amphitheater, 9:15PM

Learn about these amazing desert critters and then search for them on a short hike with blacklights!

August 22, Love and Tragedy in the Sky! Observation Point, 9PM

Join rangers for a tour of the constellations and stars focusing on the stories of Greek and Roman mythology. We will view some awesome deep space objects through park telescopes.

August 27, Full Moon Hike! Observation Point, 7:30PM

Join rangers for a short hike through the hoodoos under the light of the full moon! You will learn about the moon, nocturnal wildlife and other park information.

Note: for all dark sky programs, please bring only lights with red lenses if possible to protect night vision. Please arrive early to avoid illumination with you headlights, or park facing away from the program
