Rabbitbrush
Rabbitbrush is one of the most widely distributed shrubs in the West. It also needs more moisture than any other shrub common to the region. In the past, Indian tribes were known to use this shrub for many medicinal uses, such as headaches, colds, and internal injuries. This plant first blooms in mid-July and continues into September. Rabbitbrush can easily thrive where other plants cannot. It serves as a reserve food for antelope, jackrabbits, mule deer, and important winter browse for elk.
