Housing Provided (covers rent and utilities)

It is mostly furnished with a couch, bed, fridge, dishes, table, and a dresser. You must bring your own bedding and toiletries. The triplex (housing) is a two bedroom apartment that that is shared with a roommate. Well behaved pets may be allowed depending on current housing situation.

Preferred Skills and requirements

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license at the time of employment. Applicants must successfully pass a criminal history background check upon hire.

Park is in a remote setting. We prefer you have a personal vehicle. The park is forty-five minutes away from a small town and an hour and a half away from slightly larger towns. The park will not provide a vehicle to travel to town for groceries or for personal needs or recreation.

Applicants must be able to competently operate a computer with internet-based programs, and be willing to work in an outdoor setting, and work weekends, holidays and evenings.

Have the ability to adapt well and work under pressure.

Prefer experience as a ranger or in a park setting, or related education. Experience with cash handling and First Aid/CPR certification preferred but not required.

Examples of Duties

Applicant should have the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team; be able to follow both oral and written instructions; be willing to perform janitorial, project work and customer service.

Daily cleaning of park restrooms and facilities, grounds keeping, and park projects. Indoor and outdoor work.

Duties include greeting park guests upon entry, selling annual passes, providing information, handling money, making camping reservations, and providing excellent customer service. Applicant must be willing to answer phones, greet customers, handle money, sell products and goods at the Visitor Center. Our entrance station and Visitor Center are one in the same so you will also be asked to inventory products and restock as needed. May assist with, or present, educational programs and patrol park grounds and trails.

Assist with, or lead,  response to search and rescues, injuries, overdue parties, etc.
