Seasonal Park Ranger Aides and Lead Park Ranger Aide (Gift Shop)

The Utah Department of Natural Resources, State Parks, has multiple seasonal positions (no benefits) available at Goblin Valley State Park, Utah. These appointments will last from March- November 2026. Housing is provided.

Job Duties 

The incumbents in this position will assist in the performance of all park management duties including cleaning and maintaining park restrooms, campsites, trails and other facilities; providing visitor information, customer service, pass sales and gift shop sales at the visitor center; patrolling park grounds and providing rules enforcement; preparing and presenting educational programs; responding to emergency incidents including first aid and search and rescue; performing other duties as assigned. 

The Lead position, in addition to all duties listed, will be responsible for managing gift shop operations including placing orders, stocking, maintaining inventory, creating displays and maintaining relationships with vendors. 

Job Requirements and Skills 

The successful applicant will have a background in park or natural resources management or significant experience with customer service and outdoor recreation. 

Preference will be given to an individual with, or seeking, a degree in parks or natural resources management. 

Other 

Goblin Valley is a very remote site and free housing is provided in the form of 2 bedroom apartments or a camper trailer. 

Incumbents must be able to work in extreme and adverse weather conditions including heat and storms; lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Camp Host

We are looking for one or more volunteer camp hosts to work 20-30 hours per week for the 2026 season. RV water and sewer hookups available. Electrical hookups are not available. If interested, email asprafke@utah.gov for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities
