Gravel road maintenance will occur on December 17-18, 2024. These roads will be sprayed with a magnesium chloride solution to help with dust mitigation during hot months and extends the life of the gravel roads. Be advised there will be delays and these roads will be muddy and any mud accumulated on your vehicles will need to be sprayed off as soon as possible.
Temperatures will be in the 40’s during the day this week. Night time temperatures will be in the 20’s. As a reminder, please camp only in pre-disturbed areas which have an existing fire pit/ring.
-Portable toilets are available along Willow Springs Road and Dalton Wells Road from mid February through the third week of November. Two vault (pit) toilets are available in the Willow Springs area for use 365 days a year.
-Dumpsters are located on Willow Springs Road and Dalton Wells Road near the self-pay fee tubes.
–Dalton Wells and Willow Springs Road access is now being routed through the new state park entrance. Use the turning lanes on Highway 191 to enter the park and travel past the park visitor center. Connector roads provide access to Willow Springs and Dalton Wells Roads.
The visitor center will remain closed to the public until the grand opening scheduled for Spring of 2025. Please abide by construction signage and barriers. Areas which have not been open to public access will remain closed until the areas are ready for visitor use.
Primitive camping will be allowed to take place on Willow Springs Road and Dalton Wells Road. Construction is taking place in areas which have previously not been accessible by the public in the past. Please abide by all construction signage and barriers to ensure you stay in areas where it is safe to camp and recreate. Construction is underway, watch for construction equipment driving on roads in different areas of the park.
