Activities for Groups & School Field Trips

  • Dark Sky Programs: As an international Dark Sky Park you can schedule or plan to come to one of our scheduled dark sky events that take place throughout the year.

  • Hiking & Nature Walks: Explore various trails suitable for different skill levels and interests.
  • Picnics & Outdoor Gatherings: Utilize designated picnic areas for meals and group activities.

Planning Your Visit

School groups that are wanting the ranger-led programing and interactive learning experience will need to fill out our the School Field Trip Request Form at least 2 weeks before your preferred field trip date.

Group Size & Reservations

  • Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to make reservations.
  • School groups should book well in advance to secure preferred dates and programs.

Fees & Permits

  • There is a $2 per student fee for all school groups.
  • For private groups there is a $50 fee for the program.

Field Trip Planning Checklist

  • Confirm group size and ages.
  • Figure out preferred dates and times.
  • Fill out the school group request form.
  • Arrange transportation and parking.
  • Prepare necessary permission slips and medical forms.
  • Inform participants of what to wear and bring (water, snacks, sunscreen, etc.).
