Nature Journaling Workshops
June 20th: Solstice Snapshot
Join us for a high-energy exploration of the longest day of the year! At the Summer Solstice, the sun reaches its peak, bathing the Earth in a unique intensity of light. We’re celebrating this solar milestone by looking closer than ever before.
Peer through a professional solar telescope to witness the roiling surface of our nearest star—seeing sunspots with your own eyes. Then, transition from the macro to the micro as we nature journal the vibrant pigments of the solstice landscape. We’ll hunt for the “hidden” colors of the season and map the spectrum of the sun’s energy through art.
Whether you’re a science buff, an artist, or just a sun-seeker, come capture the fleeting magic of the solstice with us. Registration will open on May 12th and you can register HERE.
July 18th: Moon Doodles and Observations
Join us for an evening of cosmic creativity and discovery! Peer through our high-powered telescopes for a close-up look at the lunar surface, then grab a complimentary nature journal to sketch the phases of the moon and record your findings. Whether you’re a budding astronomer or a curious artist, come capture the magic of the night sky with our park rangers. Registration for this event will open in June.
