SEASONAL PART-TIME POSITIONS:

We are currently looking for seasonal Park Ranger aids for the Summer of 2024. If you have ever wanted to work for Utah State Parks, Fremont Indian state park offers it all.

Fremont Indian State Park and Museum is looking to hire a seasonal part-time employee to join our
outstanding team! The job requires working weekends and holidays. Duties include welcoming and
orienting customers to the park, assisting with park retail operations, helping with some programs, and
some park maintenance tasks. The summer of 2024 we are looking for the following positions:

Park Ranger Aid to assist with the front desk operations such as welcoming visitors to the park, collecting fees, checking campers in and out, selling gift shop items, helping stock gift shop and some cleaning duty’s and other duty’s as assigned.

Park Ranger Aid to assist with the maintenance of the park. This position will help by cleaning restrooms, mowing and grounds maintenance, trail work, and other duty’s as assigned.

Park Ranger Aid to assist with educational and interpretative programs for visitors. This positions will plan and conduct programs focusing on education and hands on experiences for the visitors to help them better understand and experience the ways natives, historical, and natural thing have a connection to the State Park and clear creek canyon. This position will mainly work weekends to present the programs on Friday and Saturdays.
The position pays $12.50-15.00/hr Depending on experience. The position requires between 20-40
hrs/week (it is a seasonal position with the possibility of some hours during the off season months).

INTERNSHIP IN MUSEUM STUDIES/CURATORIAL MANAGEMENT/INTERPRETATION:

This position is awarded some financial assistance for the duration of the internship.  A $1,000 stipend can be awarded for one month, or there will be an hourly rate.  The internship will provide excellent training for anyone considering a future in environmental education/interpretation, archaeology and/or preservation and conservation museum work. We request a minimum commitment of 10 to 15 hours a week, with up to 40 hours a week available. To utilize the park housing accommodations, we require a minimum of 30 hours of work a week.  If housing is not provided by the park and is arranged by the student, the monthly stipend may increase based on hours worked.   Scheduling is flexible and could include a variety of weekdays/evenings as well as Saturdays and Sundays.

Fremont Indian State Park is approximately 21 miles west of Richfield, located on I-70 in Central Utah. Housing may be available upon request here within the park.  The park has a fully furnished studio apartment with laundry facilities available.  There is also available camping spots if the intern would prefer to camp for an extended period.
