There are currently two active alerts.
ALERT 1: May 10th Park Closure
Snow Canyon State Park will be closed to the general public from approximately 7a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10. This closure is to accommodate the cycling portion of the Ironman 70.3 St. George. Approximately 2,700 athletes are anticipated to participate in this year’s event. The closure includes both Snow Canyon Drive and the paved Whiptail trail. Please plan your park visits accordingly.
ALERT 2: Construction Impacts through May 2025
On October 21, 2024, construction began on several visitor and park improvement projects. Work includes construction of a new restroom at the Scout Cave/Johnson Canyon trailhead; widening of the south entrance road from one to two incoming lanes; construction of a new south entrance station; and the expansion and improvement of multiple parking lots. Please be aware of the following dates and impacts:
- April 1, 2025 – May 15, 2025: There is limited parking for the Scout Cave/Padre Canyon trails. Access to the Scout Cave and Padre Canyon trails will be limited as a result. Visitors are encouraged to explore other park trails.
