Notice: Temporary Closure of North Jetty for Emergency Response Exercise
Utah Lake State Park, in collaboration with Provo Airport, will be conducting a simulated emergency response exercise on Saturday, April 26, 2025. This exercise aims to enhance preparedness for potential aircraft rescue and recovery operations on Utah Lake.
To facilitate the setup and execution of this important training, the North Jetty will be closed starting at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 25, and will remain closed until 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 26.
We understand this may cause some inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to improve safety measures for all visitors to Provo Airport and surrounding communities. The South Jetty will remain open for recreational activities during this period.
Please be mindful of emergency response vehicles and personnel in the Park and yield the right of way as necessary.

Buoys are on the water and ready to go. Please boat, sail and recreate responsibly. Be safe and enjoy Utah Lake.
Quagga Decontamination: Open again on weekends. Saturdays and Sundays 9 AM to 6 PM. (Must arrive prior to 5:30). 2 People are required for a decontamination to be completed. When I know they are going to be open everyday I will post it.
Special Use Permits: A Special Use Permit is needed for any commercial activities that take place inside of the State Park. This includes races, tournaments, and professional photography (work for which you are being compensated). Please click here to go to a link for the Special Use Permit application.

Drone Use: Due to its proximity to the Provo Airport Utah Lake State Park is a no-fly zone for drones.
Park Information: Known as Utah’s largest freshwater lake at roughly 148 sq. miles, Utah Lake provides a variety of recreation activities. Utah Lake State Park offers fishing access for channel catfish, walleye, white bass, black bass, and several species of panfish. With an average water temperature of 75 degrees, Utah Lake provides an excellent outlet for swimming, boating, and paddleboarding. The RV campground consists of 31 sites, complete with water and power hookups.
Boat Slips
There are only 2 slips left for the season as of 4/16/2025.
All Required paperwork is required to be on hand prior to payment of the slip. This includes:
Copy of filled out slip lease agreement, Copy of current Registration, Copy of current Insurance, Copy of AIS certification, Vessel Safety inspection performed by a Park Ranger (done prior to launch), and Proof of current Parks Pass
The rental slip season runs from April 1 – October 31. Slip prices vary based on size and range from $650 – $950. (Weather permitting we will open the slips March 21 and keep them open until November 15 2025.)
Utah Lake State Park does not offer refunds due to weather, bugs, early camping departures, or the amount of time spent inside the park.

Remember you must self-certify and display your quagga form PRIOR to launching your vessel. If you intend to Clean, Drain, and Dry your vessel, it takes 18 days in the fall to do so. If you have been to Lake Powell or out-state-waters, and if you have a more complex boat with ballast tanks, in/outboard motors with unverified water, etc, then you must wait 30 days to dry or get professionally decontaminated.
