Veterans Adventure Pilot Program

The Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs (UDVMA) and the Utah Division of State Parks are excited to implement a new pilot program offering a special annual state park pass to qualifying Utah veterans.
This one-year initiative, created and funded by the Utah State Legislature (S.B. 108), is designed to provide our veterans with day-use access to the stunning natural landscapes and recreational opportunities that Utah’s state parks have to offer.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Veterans State Parks Pass, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces
- Interagency Military-Lifetime Pass holder: Applicants must possess an Interagency Military-LIFETIME Pass for national parks (not the Military Annual Pass).
- Utah Resident
Program Details
- Limited Availability: Only 1,600 passes are available through this pilot program. Passes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage eligible veterans to apply as soon as possible to secure their pass. Please note that each veteran is only eligible for a single pass.
- Duration: This is a one-year pilot program, and passes will be valid from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
- Application Process: Eligible veterans can apply online through the below application form. Once approved, passes will be mailed to the address provided on the application.

Pass is for day-use access only
This pass is not valid at This is the Place Heritage Park; and does not cover fees charged by Davis County for Travel on the Antelope Island Causeway. This pass is not valid for special charges or fees within the park (i.e., Jordan River OFf-Hgihway Vehicle State Park rider fees, golf green fees, special program participation fees, camping, etc.) or special events sponsored activities or concession services. Pass is not valid until name/signature line is completed. Disclaimer: this pass does not guarantee entrance into the park.
Other Veterans Offerings at Utah State Parks
The Utah Division of State Parks also offers the Veterans With Disabilities Honor Pass for veterans who are Utah residents, honorably discharged, and have a service-related disability verified by a benefits letter from the Department of Veterans and Military Affairs. The pass provides day-use admittance for the veteran and up to seven guests in the same vehicle.
