Do I need a reservation to camp at the park?No, at Lost Creek State Park, reservations are not required for camping. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and camping is only allowed in the designated, cleared areas. Be sure to check availability upon arrival, as there is currently no reservation system in place. Enjoy the park’s peaceful setting and natural beauty!
Is the park friendly to off-highway vehicles?Snowmobiles & street legal OHVs are permitted to operate in the park.
What type of facilities are at Lost Creek?The park is currently pending construction. There is no power or water. Vault restrooms are available in both primitive campgrounds & each of the day-use parking areas. There is a boat ramp located towards the center of the park that offers a seasonal courtesy dock. The lake itself is wakeless.
Where is a good spot to fish & What bait?Boat Launch Area: A popular spot for rainbow trout and smallmouth bass, accessible from both the shore and boats.
East Shore: Great for shore fishing, especially for trout in calm waters.
South Shore (near the dam): Deeper waters ideal for brown trout and bass.
Inlet Area: Good for trout fishing, as fish gather near the cooler waters.
Can I purchase a fishing license at the park?No, but you can acquire your license online, please visit wildlife.utah.gov
What are the fishing regulations?4 trout, 8 bass, 8 wipers, 50 crappies. No more than 3 trout may be under 15″ & 1 over 22″ for the total combined 4. All trout between 15-22 inches must be immediately released.
What time does the park open and close?We open at 6:00 a.m. and close for day use at 10:00 p.m. If you are in the park past 10 PM camping fees apply.
What should I bring for camping?Since the park is primitive, you should bring all necessary supplies, including water, food, and camping gear, as there are limited amenities. The park may experience changes in accessibility and activity options depending on weather conditions, particularly in winter.
Are Dogs Allowed in the Park? Dogs are welcome at Lost Creek on a 6-foot hand-held leash.
Keeping your pet leashed protects them and other animals. Do not let your pet approach, play, attack or chase wild animals. Pets may be seen as a threat to other animals regardless of temperament.
If you encounter a wild animal, it is important to stay calm, do not let your pet approach, leave space for escape for both parties and calmly guide your pet away.
Where can we go hiking?There are no official trails in the park but visitors can walk anywhere within the park boundaries. Much of the park is on a steep grade and overgrown by sagebrush and other shrubs.

Where is the nearest Grocery/Gas Store?The nearest grocery store and gas station to Lost Creek State Park are located in Morgan.
Head south on UT-158 South (from the park entrance).
Continue straight for about 12 miles until you reach the town of Morgan.
Turn left onto W 800 N when you reach the main intersection in Morgan.

Do I have to pay to launch a boat?No, it’s included with your day fee.
How do I get to Salt Lake City from here?Route 1: Via I-84 East (Faster Route)
Head north on I-15 from Salt Lake City.
Take exit 344B for I-84 East toward Ogden.
Continue on I-84 East for about 28 miles.
Take exit 87 for Henefer/Croydon.
Turn right onto UT-158 North and follow the signs to Lost Creek State Park.
Estimated Time: 1 hour 10 minutes (approx. 55 miles)

Route 2: Via US-89 North (Seasonal Scenic Route – Check UDOT Road Closures for Status)
Head north on I-15 from Salt Lake City.
Take exit 304B for US-89 North toward Ogden.
Continue on US-89 North for about 20 miles.
Turn right onto UT-66 North to the town of Morgan.
Turn left onto UT-158 North and follow the signs to Lost Creek State Park.
Estimated Time: 1 hour 30 minutes (approx. 60 miles)

Route 3: Via I-80 East and US-40 East
Head east on I-80 from Salt Lake City.
Take exit 134 for US-40 East toward Heber/Park City.
Follow US-40 East for about 30 miles until you reach the junction with US-189.
Take the exit for US-189 North, continuing for about 15 miles through the town of Heber.
Turn left onto UT-158 North toward Lost Creek State Park and follow the signs to the park.

Can I camp on my boat overnight?No, overnight mooring is not allowed at Lost Creek due to the small size of the reservoir, which makes it difficult to maintain safe distances between vessels. The limited space and proximity to shorelines prevent boats from following the necessary regulations for overnight mooring.
What activities can I do?Fishing, boating, paddleboarding, hiking, and wildlife viewing are popular activities. The park also offers primitive camping. While swimming is allowed, the reservoir is primarily used for fishing and boating, and swimming is not as popular.
