Experience the Magic of the Stars at Utah’s State Parks

Utah is known for its stunning natural beauty, but did you know that it’s also home to some of the best stargazing experiences in the country? With its clear, dark skies and minimal light pollution, Utah is a perfect destination for star parties.

With International Dark Sky Week fast approaching (April 15-22, 2023), let’s check out why a star party at one of Utah’s state parks is a must-attend and discover some of the top state parks for star gazing.

A star party is a great way to learn more about astronomy and the night sky. With expert guides and knowledgeable park rangers, you can learn about the stars, constellations, and other celestial objects. Not only can you see a gorgeous display of stars and constellations with the naked eye, but with the help of telescopes and binoculars, you’ll be able to spot things like the moon, planets, and even faraway galaxies. It’s a truly amazing experience that will give you a whole new appreciation for the night sky.

Don’t forget to bring the whole family! Kids of all ages will love it. They’ll not only get to see stars and constellations up close, but they’ll also learn about the universe and cosmos in a fun and interactive way.

Utah is home to a whopping ten “Dark Sky Parks,” which are designated by the International Dark-Sky Association as having exceptional nighttime environments. These parks offer breathtaking views of the night sky and are ideal locations for stargazing.
