2023 Ice Fishing Tournaments

Ice fishing is a uniquely exhilarating experience, and it’s also a fun way to spend time outdoors with your family and friends. Consider entering an ice fishing tournament this winter if you’re looking for a new challenge! 

The Utah Division of State Parks is hosting several tournaments at parks across the state. Register today to reserve your spot!

Remember, ice is never 100% safe! Before planning an ice fishing trip, or whenever you are thinking of going onto the ice, it is important to consider some ice safety tips to help ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time.

7th Annual Millsite On Ice Fishing Tournament
Millsite State Park
January 13-14, 2023

Emery County is sponsoring this event. The tournament’s opening day (Jan. 13) will be a two-person team tournament. The second day (Jan. 14) will be a single-person event. The registration fee for one day is $50, or $85 for both days. Winners can earn up to $2,000 in cash and other prizes.

Fins and Fur Ice Fishing Derby   
East Canyon State Park
January 14, 2023

Fins and Fur will host their annual ice fishing derby at East Canyon State Park on January 14th! Cash prizes will be paid out to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place as well as an hourly prize for the biggest fish.  You will also be entered into a raffle after the derby! Derby begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.

Disabled Outdoorsman Ice Fishing Event
Steinaker State Park
January 14, 2023, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Join us for the 4th Annual Disable Outdoorsman Ice Fishing Event. Utah DNR will be on-site to teach participants how to fish. Bring cash to win prizes!

Quadfishathon

Quadfishathon is back after a six-year hiatus! This four-lake ice fishing tournament includes Echo, Lost Creek, Rockport, and East Canyon State Parks. Get a discount on your entry fee when you register for all four!

Please note: registration for the Quad closes on January 12th.

Youth Ice Fishing Bowl 
Steinaker State Park
January 21, 2023

Steinaker State Park and the DWR are partnering to host a youth ice fishing tournament. The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Steinaker State Park. Prizes will be awarded for:

  • Heaviest fish overall
  • Heaviest fish for each age bracket
  • Smallest fish for each age bracket
  • First fish turned in

The event is free, and Uintah County Tourism will cover the entrance fee to the state park for one vehicle per participant. All attendees must register on Eventbrite before Wednesday, January 18 at 11:59 p.m.

Tightline Outdoors Ice Addiction Ice Fishing Tournament 
Echo State Park & Steinaker State Park
January 21, 2023 – Echo State Park
February 4, 2023 – Steinaker State Park 

This four-reservoir event is one to remember! Two of the stops include Utah’s Echo and Steinaker state parks with the other two hosted in Colorado. With over $27,000 in cash and prizes to the heaviest 30 fish weighed, this is not one you want to miss.
