CORAL PINK SAND DUNES STATE PARK — An Arizona man is dead following a UTV accident Wednesday night at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park.

At approximately 9:25 p.m. 46-year-old Mark Lynn Allred from Cottonwood, Arizona, was riding a Utility Terrain Vehicle at the northern end of the sand dunes when the accident occurred.

At this time, the UTV Mr. Allred was operating is believed to have been the only vehicle involved in the incident.

Responders declared Allred dead at the scene. Emergency medical services were dispatched out of Kane County but were canceled before they arrived.

There was one passenger also riding in the UTV at the time of the accident. This individual self-transported themselves for medical evaluation.

Allred was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. We do not believe alcohol was involved.

This incident remains under investigation at this time.

The Utah Division of Parks and Recreation extends our condolences to the family and friends impacted by this incident.
