Law Enforcement
NOTICE: The Department of Natural Resources is working to unify its four law enforcement agencies (Forestry, Fire and State Lands; Outdoor Recreation; State Parks; and Wildlife Resources) into one DNR Division of Law Enforcement.
The unification will take place over the course of several years to ensure we are serving the public in the most efficient and effective manner possible. We also want our rangers, conservation officers and fire investigators to have the best training, equipment and opportunities available. Learn more here.
Live your dream of working in the great outdoors!
Law Enforcement Park Rangers have one of the best jobs around. There are very few jobs where you can start your day off by watching the sunrise against red rocks; spend the afternoon patrolling trails on an off-highway vehicle; and end your shift aboard a boat conducting life jacket safety checks.
These rangers are Utah POST certified. The park ranger interview process occurs as positions become available. Occasionally, recruitment takes place to build a hiring roster. The interview process is a 2-4 day process.
