Utah State Parks Will Remain Open in the Event of a Federal Shutdown – 2025

September 29, 2025

The Utah Division of State Parks, Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation, Utah Office of Tourism, and our partners are monitoring the situation around the federal government funding bill and potential shutdown, as well as the impact it could have on travel.

At this time, all of Utah’s national parks, monuments and recreation areas remain open and in the event of a federal shutdown, Utah has committed to keeping these areas accessible.

Regardless of the status of our national parks, Utah’s state parks will remain open, staffed and ready to welcome visitors.

As always, responsible travel practices are key to protecting our treasured places.
