KANAB, Utah — Management at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park is announcing temporary day-use limitations due to an upcoming asphalt resurfacing project.

The project will take place from June 23-30. During this time, the state park will be operating at a limited day-use capacity. The main day-use parking lot, sand dunes observation deck, observation deck bathrooms, and the old campground will all be closed off to public access.

Day-use visitors will be asked to utilize the overflow parking inside the park to the left of the entrance station. Large trailers and busses will likely not be able to fit in this area and are asked to staging in areas outside of the park. Bathrooms will still be available at the visitor center and new campground.

“We understand that this project may impact some visitor’s recreation plans,” Park Manager Josh Hansen said. “We do our best to balance improving our park amenities while ensuring visitors retain access as much as possible. Our staff take pride in offering a high-quality recreation area that is maintained to meet our standards. Thank you all for your understanding and patience during this process.

Because day-use access will be limited due to parking capacity, we ask that those wanting to visit Coral Pink Sand Dunes check the park’s status prior to getting on the road. This can be done by visiting the state park’s webpage, checking the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park Facebook page, or by calling the park directly.
