Man found dead after UTV accident at Wasatch Mountain State Park

SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah man is dead following an incident at Wasatch Mountain State Park.

The man, 61-year-old Anthony Patrick Dugmore from Wasatch County, was traveling alone in his UTV within Wasatch Mountain State Park on a hunting trip on Saturday, October 4, 2020. His last contact with family members occurred later that afternoon.

Sunday morning, family members contacted dispatch to report that Dugmore had not returned home. Members of the Wasatch County Search and Rescue, Conservation Officers with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, and Utah State Parks Rangers responded to the area and began searching for him.

At around 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dugmore’s body and his UTV were located in the Little Deer Creek area within Wasatch Mountain State Park. The UTV was found at the bottom of an embankment off the trail, traveling a distance of approximately 1000 feet. Dugmore is believed to have been wearing a seatbelt, but not a helmet.

The Utah Division of Parks and Recreation extends our condolences to the friends and family impacted by this tragedy. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
