Public Comment: State Parks Utah Outdoor Recreation Plan
NOTICE: This public comment period has been closed.
The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grants program was enacted by Congress to assist in the acquisition and development of high priority public outdoor recreation facilities. The program, administered by the Utah Division of Parks and Recreation (the Division), provides matching grants to state and local governments creating a broad range of recreation facilities throughout Utah.
In accordance with the LWCF Act, every five years the Division is required to produce/update a comprehensive recreation plan that assesses recreation supply and needs for the State of Utah. Failure to produce a plan will result in the loss of funding to the state. The plan is used to guide the distribution of LWCF grant dollars to public outdoor recreation projects, facilities, and activities.
