We Are Hosting 3 Winterfest Celebrations!
Just because there is snow on the ground and the air is cold does not mean outdoor fun should take a break until spring. Here at Utah State Parks, snow is just another way for us to get out and experience all the greatness Utah has to offer. After all, we do have the greatest snow on Earth!
To celebrate these winter activities, we are hosting three different Winterfest Celebrations at 3 different Utah State Parks. If you can’t make one, no worries, find another closer to you or one that better meshes with your schedule. With so many activities, you are bound to find something new to try.
Wasatch Mountain State Park
Jan. 21, 2017 — 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Here at Wasatch Mountain State Park, we know how to have winter fun. Last year’s Winterfest was so successful, we thought we’d throw another one this year. The celebration begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 21. Rentals for our snowshoes and x-country skis are free for the celebration as long as you preregister. We will also have our snowmobiles and snowbikes on hand to showcase to visitors.
You can preregister and reserve your rental equipment by calling 435-654-1791. Spots will fill up quickly, so call and reserve your spots today! Regular day use fees still apply.
East Canyon State Park
Jan. 28, 2017 — 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
East Canyon State Park is where the first Winterfest Celebration was born, so it lends to reason they have an idea or two about how to make it an experience you’ll remember. Join us on Saturday, January 28th for multiple activities including: cross country skiing, tubing, snowmobiling, and much more.
For more information please call East Canyon State Park at: 801-829-6866 or visit the East Canyon State Park Facebook page.
Bear Lake State Park
Jan. 28, 2017 — 6 a.m. – 3 p.m.
There is a monster coming to this state park, and it’s not the Bear Lake Monster; it is the Winterfest Celebration! Most activities take place in the Utah Bear Lake State Park Marina. The entrance fee at the Marina will be waived for those attending the event, with a hope that you’ll donate to the Common Ground charity that the event is fundraising for.
The event hosted by the Bear Lake Rendezvous Chamber of Commerce, Bear Lake Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau, Garden City Fire District, and Bear Lake State Park.
There are a plethora of activities to attend at this event, including the Monster Plunge, Cisco Disco, Chili Cookoff, and an outdoor expo. The festivities start at sunrise, so be sure you get there early.
