Deer Creek State Park to Close Main Boat Ramp, Sailboat Beach Area for Maintenance

The main entrance and boat ramp at Deer Creek State Park

May 20, 2021

WALLSBURG, Utah — Management at Deer Creek State Park is announcing a temporary closure of the boat ramp at the main state park entrance on June 2; along with the temporary closure of the Sailboat Beach and dry storage areas for the day on June 1.

These temporary closures will allow maintenance crews to apply asphalt slurry seal and striping to the areas. While the boat ramp is expected to reopen on June 3, access and parking in the area will be extremely limited as crews will be finalizing the project.

Deer Creek State Park is expected to be back to normal by June 5, but visitors are encouraged to monitor the park’s social media accounts for updates or changes.

“We do our best here at Deer Creek State Park to keep our facilities in good working condition for our customers,” Park Manager Bruce Strom said. “While this may not be the most ideal for those visiting during this short time period, the work done will help preserve and protect the pavement, as well as help keep traffic flowing at a manageable pace in the area.”

Those wishing to launch a boat during the temporary closure can do so at the open boat ramp located in the Island Beach day-use area.
