Day-Use: Open 7 am to 10 pm daily. Welcome to Autumn in Utah! The trail can be muddy, hot, cold, wet, icy, and or dry. Be prepared with clothing and equipment appropriate for the conditions. As always, bring water. Your dog is allowed on the trail as long as they are fully controlled, on a leash and they are cleaned up after. If they poop, you scoop and must pack it out. Do not leave bags on the trail to be picked up on your way back down.
Visitor Center: We will be closing the Visitor Center for the season on November 21st. The rest of the park and campground will remain open. We will reopen the Visitor Center early in March 2025.
Museum. The museum and Visitor center will be closed on November 21st. We will reopen early in March 2025.
Average Temperatures: Highs in the 50’s and lows in the 20’s. Be ready for freezing temps at night. Disconnect hoses from RVs at night to prevent freezing and breaking of hoses and hydrants.
Campground: Wide Hollow Campground is open through the winter. Click on the red button above and to the right to make reservations up to 4 months in advance. All campsites have a fire pit and a picnic table. Campground restrooms will be winterized and closed for the winter. Firewood must be harvested in Utah. Please don’t bring firewood from out of the area to prevent transporting invasive species and diseases. It is the law. We have firewood here to purchase. The park has a sewer dump station and potable water for an additional fee of $15.
16 Standard sites. Dry camping in Loop A. Most can support a small RV all will support tents. Surrounded by mature shady trees and have a nice view of the lake and the cliffs. No generators allowed. $30 per night. The park has a sewer dump station and potable water for an additional fee of $15.
7 partial hookup sites. These are in Loop A and come with RV electricity (20, 30, and 50 amps) and water. These sites support medium-sized RVs and tents. $40 per night. The park has a sewer dump station and potable water for an additional fee of $15. Disconnect hoses at night to prevent freezing and breaking of hoses and hydrants.
29 Full hookup sites. Premium sites in loops B and C with a great view of Wide Hollow Reservoir, Escalante canyons, and Powell Point. Pull-through, and back-in sites with plenty of space between sites for privacy, peace, and quiet. Each site has a Shade shelter, table, firepit, paved parking, 20, 30, and 50 amp power, potable water, and sewer. $60 per night. Disconnect hoses at night to prevent freezing and breaking of hoses and hydrants.
6 Walk-in tent sites. A very short hike takes you into a cove dedicated to tent campers. Each site has a shade shelter with electricity, generous tent space, a fire pit, and a picnic table. With the exception of T-1, you will not be able to park your car at the site. You do have to walk a short way to your site. The farthest site is about 225 feet from the parking lot. Site T-1 is the ADA site. $30 per night.
The Lake: The kayak and paddleboard rental program is closed for the winter. We have pulled the dock out of the water for the winter. Water levels are rising and it is cold. Please take precautions if you plan on getting wet.
Launch Ramp: Open. We have pulled the boat dock for the winter but there is no ice yet so boats are still able to launch.
