Smallcanyon Kitchen
We’re excited to announce the arrival of Smallcanyon Kitchen, a new food truck offering local Indigenous cuisine, open daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the museum, starting September 13, 2024!
Business owners Doug and Katherine Nagle will offer local Indigenous cuisine to compliment the visitors’ experience. The name “Smallcanyon” is the name of Katherine’s full blooded Dine’ (Navajo) mother. Their food truck fare will continue Katherine’s tradition of honoring her First Nation culture and the Dine’ people.
Smallcanyon Kitchen’s cuisine will be centered around fry bread. According to Dine’ tradition, the ingredients for fry bread were provided by the US Government to the Native Americans, who made fry bread out of necessity to avoid starvation when they were forced to relocate from the lands where they had grown crops and foraged for traditional foods.
