Park of the Week: Willard Bay State Park
Whether you get your outdoor fix with boating in cool waters, hiking along green trails, photographing local wildlife, or snuggling in with loved ones for beautiful Christmas light drives, Willard Bay State Park offers a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy year-round.

Located just 12 miles northwest of Ogden, the park features a north and south marina. The north marina is open year-round, and features a total of 62 campsites, restrooms, showers, full RV hook-ups and boat slip rentals.
The south marina is open April-October each year and sports 30 campsites with restrooms, 24 of which have full hook-ups.
Willard Bay State Park also helps bring holiday cheers to park visitors from Nov. 27 – Dec. 31 by transforming into a winter wonderland for the whole family to enjoy.
There are bountiful Christmas lights and decorations, visits from Santa Claus and free train ride. You don’t want to miss this year’s Fantasy at the Bay!
Entrance fee is only $10 per-vehicles with up to 8 passengers and is open all week long. However, Santa Claus visits, train rides and concessions are not available on Sundays and the park is closed Christmas Day.
Willard Bay State Park will also be one of the six Utah State Parks participating in the First Day Hikes on Jan. 1. So, stop by the Eagle Beach Group Pavilion at noon for an easy 1-mile hike along the Linda C. Higley Nature Trail. Walk along with an interpretive ranger and keep an eye out for Bald Eagles and other wildlife. Bring snacks, binoculars and don’t forget the camera!
