Stage 1 Restrictions: No open fires are allowed except in the following cases: A: In approved fire rings or grills at developed campgrounds or day-use areas on public lands that have a pressurized running water system;
Day-Use: Open 6 am to 10 pm daily. Welcome to Spring in southern Utah! The trail can be muddy, hot, cold, icy, wet, and or dry. Be prepared with clothing and equipment appropriate for the conditions and for those conditions to change quickly. As always, bring water. It has been hotter and drier than normal. Your well behaved dog is allowed on the trail as long as they are fully controlled on a leash, and they are cleaned up after. If they poop, you scoop and must pack it out. Do not leave bags on the trail to be picked up on your way back down.
Visitor Center: Open 9am to 6pm. Come in to see the gift shop, ask questions and make reservations for the campground.
Museum. Open 9am to 6pm. Come in to see fossils, petrified wood and other artifacts.
Average Temperatures: Highs in the 90’s and lows in the 40’s.
We are experiencing a historic drought. Please conserve water in the park. Fix dripping RV hoses, limit shower time, no washing of vehicles, RV or camping gear.
Campground: Wide Hollow Campground is open. Restrooms and Showers in Loop A are open. Click on the red button above and to the right to make reservations up to 4 months in advance for campsites, and 1 year for the Group Site. All campsites have a fire pit and a picnic table. You may bring your own firewood but it must be harvested in Utah. Please don’t bring firewood from out of state to prevent transporting invasive species of insects and diseases. It is the law. We have firewood here to purchase, do not gather it from around the park. The park has a sewer dump station and potable water for an additional charge of $15. Generator use is not allowed in the campground. Sites accommodate one camping unit and a maximum of eight people. A camping unit is a vehicle and one tent, one trailer, or one camper, not a combination or multiple of the above. Some sites can accommodate more than one camping unit. The charge for a second camping unit is $15 per night to be paid on arrival. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am.
16 Standard sites. Dry camping in Loop A. Most can support a small RV all will support tents. Surrounded by mature shady trees and have a nice view of the lake and the cliffs. No generators allowed. $30 per night. The park has an RV sewer dump station and potable water for an additional charge of $15. Sites 1, 3-13, 18-20, and 22. Some of these sites do not allow campfires under Stage 1 fire restrictions.
7 partial hookup sites. These are in Loop A and come with RV electricity (20, 30, and 50 amps) and water. These sites support medium-sized RVs and tents. $40 per night. The park has a sewer dump station and potable water for an additional fee of $15. Sites 14,15,16,17,21,23, and 24.
29 Full hookup sites. Premium sites in loops B and C with a great view of Wide Hollow Reservoir, Escalante canyons, and Powell Point. Pull-through, and back-in sites with plenty of space between sites for privacy, peace, and quiet. Each site has a Shade shelter, table, firepit, paved parking, 20, 30, and 50 amp power, potable water, and sewer. $60 per night. Sites 25-52.
6 Walk-in tent sites. A very short hike takes you into a cove dedicated to tent campers. Each site has a shade shelter with electricity, generous tent space, a fire pit, and a picnic table. With the exception of T-1, you will not be able to park your car at the site. You do have to walk a short way to your site. The farthest site is about 225 feet from the parking lot. Site T-1 is an ADA accessible site. $30 per night. Sites T1-T6. These sites do not allow campfires due to stage 1 fire restrictions.
The Lake: The kayak and paddleboard rental program is open.
Launch Ramp: Boat Dock is open. Ramp is open for use at your own risk.
