Volunteers ‘Spring’ Into Action With Trail Cleanup

BOUNTIFUL — Spring is officially here, and our volunteers are out ensuring our beautiful trails are ready for the coming season.

The group of 27, led by Ty Bolton from the Utah Toyota Offroad Expo – along with his family, worked together to pick up trash at multiple locations along the “Bountiful B” trailhead, Buckland Flats, and Ward Canyon Road.

One of the volunteers also provided a dump trailer for use during the project. It was a fun, family-friendly activity.

The off-road groups involved in the project included the Utah Toyota Offroad Expo, Salt Lake Offroad Expo, Wasatch Cruisers, Utah Jeep Crew Community, Tony Divino Toyota, Utah Snowmobile Association, and the Davis County Snowmobile Club.

A few of the volunteers are also certified OHV Trail Hosts through the Utah State Parks OHV Program.

These hosts interacted with members of the public they encountered along the trails and handed out trash bags to them. Some of the youth also showed an interest in becoming Trail Hosts in the future.

The Division of Parks and Recreation OHV Program would like to thank all of the volunteers who lent their time to the project, as well as to the U.S. Forest Service Salt Lake Ranger District for their continued support of these efforts.
