5 Organizations Team Up For Trail Maintainence

Utah is known for its premier OHV trails and riding opportunities. The landscape and scenery found here are breathtaking and often leave visitors planning their next trip before their current one has finished.

These beautiful trails are often built and maintained through the combined work of multiple organizations. Recently, five of these groups joined together for some trail work that is often overlooked; but is essential to keep riders safe.

The group of volunteers, led by Clif Koontz, spent a day on the Orange Trail near Green River working to mark trail intersections with appropriately number stickers.

This may seem like an easy task but attention to detail is imperative as these signs help riders stay on the trail as well as inform them of the difficulty level of each route.

Koontz, who is also the Executive Director of Ride With Respect, is a detail oriented and passionate when it comes to Utah’s OHV trails; making this the perfect task for him and the volunteers to complete.

The organizations involved in the project include Ride With Respect, Public Lands Equal Access Alliance, Northern Utah ATV Trail Riders, Sand Rock Ridge Riders, and the Moab BLM Field Office.
