WASATCH MOUNTAIN STATE PARK – Looks like Wasatch Mountain State Park is getting some more love from the ATV community here in Utah – but with its green trees, miles of trails and stunning mountain views, who wouldn’t fall in love with such a beautiful place?

Members of the Utah ATV Association made the trip up to Wasatch Mountain State Park on June 18 to formally “adopt” the park. To commemorate the adoption, 20 UAA members joined Utah State Parks Ranger Drew Patterson on a 36-mile ride through some of the park trails – giving them some familiarity with the area.

As part of their adoption, UAA Members will be assisting members of the public along the park trails – providing information, answering questions, promoting safe recreation and even handing out pamphlets and brochures.

The Association will also be seeking out volunteer projects and other service opportunities to help further the overall health of the area trails.

During the ride, participants also took some time out of their ride to prune some areas along the ATV trail in Snake Creek Canyon, further showcasing their commitment to helping keep Utah trails safe and groomed.

The UAA is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization founded in 1985. The group’s mission is to help preserve riders’ access to National Forests, State Parks, and BLM lands.

They plan recreation events and are always seeking out opportunities to promote trail riding as a legitimate and respectable activity for individuals and families of all ages.

Members participate in group rides every month; as well as camp-outs, pot luck dinners, ATV rodeos and even picnics.
