The well-known Mountain and Lake courses at Wasatch Mountain State Park are consistently ranked among the most popular, affordable, and scenic in Utah. Nationally, Golf Digest rated Wasatch Mountain as one of Utah’s Best Places to Play! The Lake Course opened in 1967 and is beloved by Utahn’s and visitors alike. The Mountain Course was finished in 1998 and presents a completely different set of challenges along with spectacular views of the Heber Valley.
At an elevation of 6,000 feet, golfers enjoy cooler temperatures during the summer months. The fall colors in late September to early October are truly a sight to behold. If you love nature and enjoy playing golf in a natural setting with fairways bordered by trees rather than houses, Wasatch is a perfect setting. Book your next round of golf at one of Wasatch’s iconic courses.
Course Breakdowns
Lake Course: Resting on gentle terrain, the Lake Course is often considered to be the easier of the two courses. It has several shorter par-5 holes, which require accurate tee shots to avoid well-positioned stands of mature trees that line the fairways. Its season-long pastoral beauty, with eight lakes and ponds, offers just the right setting, and makes the Lake Course a favorite of High, Low, and No handicappers. It truly has something for every level of player.
Mountain Course: The Mountain Course is a classic mountain-style layout, carved from natural mountain contours. The first 9-holes travel 2 miles up the mountain and the back 9-hole bring players back to the clubhouse. Because of the nature of the layout, there is not a 9-hole option on the Mountain Course and motorized carts are mandatory. Along the way, players experience dramatic elevation changes, and breathtaking vistas of the Heber Valley, often catching glimpses of roaming deer, elk, wild turkeys, moose, and other wildlife.
