Lakeview Campground

Newest Campground

Situated east of the main reservoir entrance, Lakeview Campground offers panoramic views of the turquoise water set against Sand Mountain’s red sandstone dunes. It is designed specifically to accommodate larger RVs, toy haulers and long boat/OHV trailer setups.

Total Sites: 30 sites (3 ADA-accessible sites)

- 22 Partial hookup sites (Water and 30/50 Amp Electric)

OHV/ATV Dedicated Loop

Geared specifically for off-highway vehicle (OHV) enthusiasts. Features direct ride-in / ride-out access through the tunnel to Sand Mountain’s 15,000 acres of dunes without needing to trailer your equipment.

Total Sites: 22 sites total
- Dry Camping Sites: 3
- Partial Hookup Sites: 6 sites
- Large group sites: 5 large sites (Covered shade cabanas)
- Small group sites (with power): 4
- Small group sites (no power): 4

Primitive Beach Camping

Eastside Beach

Ideal for shoreline tent camping, self-contained RVs and visitors who want to camp directly on or near the red sand beaches.

Total Sites: Dispersed shoreline zones (40+ vehicle capacity depending on water levels)

- Vault restrooms nearby
- Central trash dumpster receptacles
- Propane fires only
- Note: No utility hookups, picnic tables, or shade structures are provided.

Beachside Campground

This campground provides park visitors with a great location and amazing views of the reservoir.

Campsite Sites: 4 (Back in only)

- Note: This campground has no restroom or shower facilities.

Beachside Cottages

Sand Hollow State Park offers two charming beachside cottages, perfect for a relaxing getaway. These cottages provide a cozy retreat with stunning views of Sand Hollow Reservoir, allowing guests to unwind by the water’s edge. Each cottage is equipped with modern amenities, including air conditioning, heating and a kitchenette, ensuring a comfortable stay. The cottages are just steps away from the sandy beach, making it easy to enjoy a day of swimming, boating or simply soaking up the sun. Ideal for families or couples looking for a serene escape in nature.

Cottage Amenities:

Sleeps up to 6 (1 queen bed, bunk bed, queen sofa sleeper)
Full RV hook-up site included
Kitchenette with microwave, induction cooktop, full-size refrigerator
Heating, air conditioning, full bathroom
Small porch, picnic table and fire ring
Electricity, locking doors and windows
Pets allowed in Cottage 1 (with additional rules and fees)

Important Information:

Two night minimum
Bring your own bedding, towels, utensils, plates and cups
Cottages must be returned in the same condition or incur cleaning fees
Check-in: 2 p.m., check-out: 12 p.m.
No smoking, vaping or parties allowed
Guests are responsible for damages or excessive cleaning fees

Pet Policy

Pets are not allowed in Cottage 2.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but we are unable to accommodate pets in this park facility. The unexpected danger that pet hair can pose to those suffering from severe allergies. Due to extreme heat danger (see below), we also cannot allow guests to leave their pets in vehicles while they are staying in the Cottage. If you do have pets and are looking to stay in our park, Cottage 1 is pet friendly.

Key Park Rules and Operational Information

Park Gate Hours:

Summer 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Entry gate automatically closes and locks

Winter 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Entry gate automatically closes and locks

Check-In / Check-Out:

Check-In: 2 p.m.
Check-Out: 12 p.m. (Strictly enforced; early arrival or late departure incurs extra day-use fees)

Fire Safety:

Open-ground fires or charcoal fires directly on the beach sand are strictly prohibited.
Be aware of fire restrictions in summer months.

Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) and Boating:

Mandatory inspections apply to all watercraft prior to launching to prevent the spread of Quagga mussels.
Decontamination is required for watercraft exiting infested waters or meeting state high-risk criteria.

Pet Policy:

Pets are welcome throughout the park but must remain on a leash (maximum 6 feet) and under control at all times. Help us keep our park clean by cleaning up after your pets. Dog baggies are provided for your convenience throughout the park free of charge.
