Quagga Decontamination: Please make sure you follow all Quagga rules and regulations. We currently cannot decontaminate boats at Gunlock. Quagga sheets will need to be present with all kayaks and paddleboards launched. Please get decontaminated before visiting Gunlock State Park. Decontamination is available at the port of entry south of St. George on I-15 or at nearby Sand Hollow State Park. Please check the hours for decontamination.

Waterfalls: The waterfalls at Gunlock State Park are currently flowing. This happens when the snowpack is expended and no longer sustaining higher than normal flows in the Santa Clara River. Due to high amounts of runoff this season, debris may accumulate near the top of the falls. You can still view what is left of the falls from a safe distance. Visit THIS LINK for updated information on the status of the waterfalls.

Recreating on the rocks near the waterfalls is dangerous. Rocks are slick, water is swift, and covered hazards exist in the pools. We strongly encourage visitors to use caution and be observant in the area.

Campground: Open.
Campsites have been widened and improved. 30 sites are available with power and water at each site. There is a dump station available for park guests. Reservations are recommended and may be made at reserveamerica.com. Beach camping on the day-use beach is prohibited. Boat-in camping on the far side of the reservoir is allowed.

Day Use Beach: We have made several improvements to the park including more parking and sand on the day-use beach.

Fishing Conditions: Gunlock is a blue ribbon fishery. Largemouth Bass, Bluegill and Black Crappie as well as catfish are found in Gunlock. Please have a current Utah fishing license. Limits 50 Crappie or Bluegill. 6 Largemouth bass 1 over 12 inches. 8 Channel catfish
