Danger Cave State Monument

Welcome To Danger Cave State Monument!

Located near Wendover City, Danger Cave and Jukebox Cave are incredibly significant archaeological sites that contain over 11,000 years of human history in the Great Basin. The caves also hold important clues to changing weather, water, and habitat conditions in the area.

Danger Cave was officially designated as a state monument in 2019 and is also a National Historic Landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Day-to-day access to both caves is restricted, but visitors who want to experience them are welcome to join park staff on guided tours. Tours can be booked using the link below.

Tours focus on the archaeology of the Great Basin and how these sites and their surrounding environments were used by pre-contact Indigenous people for thousands of years before Euroamerican settlement. Attendees can expect to discuss archaeology, what the area can teach us about the past, and even examine real and replica artifacts.
