Sand Hollow has over 250 species of birds visit the reservoir each year. Bring a chair or a blanket and join a Park Ranger off the main boat ramp near the jetty, to catch a glimpse of some of these amazing birds. Binoculars are provided.
Meet at the picnic area at Fielding Garr Ranch. We’ll walk through the property’s densely populated wetland in search of your bucket-list bird. From Mammoths, to dinosaurs, sharks, trilobites, birds, crocodiles, and so much more, Moab is home to hundreds of extinct species spanning dozens of time periods. Come to the Utahraptor State Visitor Center to learn about & illustrate these ancient beasts! This special National Fossil Day observance will feature activities such as fossil-rubbing (like leaf-rubbing but with fossil rocks!) and touching real bones and other fossils found around eastern Utah!
