Individuals, couples, and families with children of all ages, as well as service groups and clubs, are needed for worthwhile and fun projects. Whether you can spend a few minutes, hours, days, or months, a volunteer assignment can be tailored to meet your interests.
Camp Host Volunteer Opportunity
Volunteer Commitment
- Minimum of 25 volunteer hours per week
- In exchange, volunteers receive a Camp Host Campsite located in the Gastonia Campground
Primary Duties
- Cleaning shower facilities and pit toilets
- Cleaning campsites for incoming campers
- Assist rangers with the camper check-in and check-out process
- Minor site maintenance
- Provide customer service and answer guest questions
Requirements
- Must be reliable, friendly, and comfortable working with the public
- Must be able to pass a background check

- Participating in park beautification efforts, such as trail maintenance, litter cleanup, and invasive plant removal.
