Park Manager Wins DNR Employee of the Year

Carl Camp, Territorial Statehouse State Park Museum Manager

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Division of Parks and Recreation is excited to announce that Carl Camp has been chosen as the DNR Employee of the Year 2018.

Carl began his career in April 1996. Over these last 22 years, Carl has proven himself again and again to be a valued member and resource to the Utah State Parks family.

His work ethic, creativity, ingenuity, and commitment, and joy for the job are clearly evident in the professional way he manages Territorial Statehouse State Park Museum.

As the park’s manager, Carl has been called a walking encyclopedia of knowledge and he enthusiastically shares this knowledge with anyone who will listen. Carl goes above and beyond with every task, event, program, dance, chore, and field trip.

Carl’s exemplary work ethic is best highlighted by those who nominated him.

“There is not a task Carl will ask you to do that he will not do himself,” one person said. “He is never seen standing by watching the group work, or only directing them to do things. He prefers to be working alongside them.”
