Park of the Week: Utah Lake State Park
A favorite to many across the state and the country, Utah Lake State Park is famous for its recreation and sporting opportunities based around – you guessed it – Utah Lake.
Spanning an area of 148.4 square miles, Utah Lake is the largest freshwater lake in the state and one of the largest in the west. All of that water means a whole lot of fun for fans of fishing, kayaking, boating and power sports.
Once out on the lake, anglers have their hands – and lines – full, and have access to catfish, walleye, white bass, black bass, and several species of panfish.
The lake is also a large draw to those looking to have a bit more action-packed fun out on the water. With such a large space, there is plenty of room for those wanting to kayak, jet ski, tube or even paddle board.
Don’t have your own water toys? Not a problem. Our Our concessionaire rents boats, PWCs, canoes, kayaks and towable water toys. They also sell food items, boating safety supplies and convenience items. Call Pinnacle Recreation at 435-513-7988 or visit their website.
Camping at Utah Lake State Park is also a popular activity, and because the park being close to home for many, can be a fun night trip to those living nearby. RV sports are available, and each campsite is equipped with a fire pit and grill.
The park is also equipped with modern restrooms, showers, sewage disposal and fish-cleaning stations.
