Area Information

San Juan County, Utah, is famous for its natural beauty, spectacular geology, and archaeology, as well as its diverse mix of cultures. Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum manages Goosenecks; located in Blanding, 56 miles northeast of Goosenecks, Edge of the Cedars is an Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) site and archaeology museum with the largest collection of pottery in the Four Corners area. Scenic landmarks near Goosenecks include Mexican Hat Rock and the Valley of the Gods drive (unpaved). Within a few hours' drive, you can explore Canyonlands National Park (Needles District) (to the north); Hovenweep National Monument (to the east); Natural Bridges National Monument (to the west); and Monument Valley Tribal Park (to the south).
