Duties: Park Ranger Aides perform a variety of duties at Dead Horse Point State Parks. Ranger Aides staff the visitor center, where they greet visitors and help them discover park resources. They sell day passes, camping sites, and gift shop merchandise. Ranger Aides perform general maintenance and clean park facilities. They help maintain hiking and biking trails. Park Ranger Aides develop and present interpretive programs, including evening programs, guided hikes, and Jr. Ranger programs. They may assist on Search and Rescue or medical incidents. Special projects and other duties may be assigned. This position will last ten weeks from early April through late June. This position will focus on interpretation.
Other: Work is performed in a remote setting with limited resources and conveniences. Ranger aides must live on site in a two-bedroom, dormitory-style setting and will be required to work weekends and holidays. Housing is free. A background check will be required.
