Johnston's Army Adventure Camp (FULL) (July 11, 2008 - July 12, 2008)
Boy Scouts travel back in time to 1861 and enter the world of a soldier at Camp Floyd, Utah Territory. As a newly enlisted private, scouts don a uniform and shoulder muskets. The Adventure Camp experience offers an authentic and unique hands-on opportunity. This is an overnight experience in period tents. The camp will also meet the requirements for the American Heritage Merit badge, and the National Historic Trails Award. Reservations and a $10 fee per boy are required. Camp Floyd History Camp for Kids (FULL) (July 17, 2008 - July 19, 2008)
A fun-filled educational experience about how soldiers lived at 1861 Camp Floyd, and how the Utah War served pre-Civil War objectives. Campers will play 19th Century games, drill, march and set up a soldier's camp; make and take home soldier craft activities, conduct a full-scale military exercise; see muskets and a cannon fired. Camp is for both boys and girls, 8-11 years of age. Limited to 24 participants; reservations and $65 camp fee required. Camp Floyd Day (September 27, 2008 - September 27, 2008)
Camp Floyd State Park in conjunction with the Utah Civil War Association and the Town of Fairfield will host Camp Floyd Day September 27, 2008 at Camp Floyd State Park. Camp Floyd Day celebrates the history of Johnston's Army and the influence it had on Utah and the Civil War history. The event is Fairfield's annual town celebration and comes to life with re-enactors, encampments, storytelling, stagecoach rides, firearm and cannon demonstrations, marches, drills, period games, photo ops in period uniform and more. All activities will be on going throughout the day, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The events will begin with a cannon and firearm display, followed by the story of Camp Floyd. Stagecoach rides will run from 12:00 p.m. through 2:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Camp Floyd State Park also celebrates Free State Parks Day on September 27th. The park will be waiving all admission fees to the Camp Floyd Museum and Stagecoach Inn for this event. Special fees for certain activities still apply.

Ghosts of Camp Floyd (October 25, 2008 - October 25, 2008)
Is Camp Floyd haunted? The public is invited to participate in a paranormal investigation of Camp Floyd on October 25, 2008, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own tape recorders, film, digital and infrared cameras where park staff will assist participants in the use of their equipment in finding paranormal orbs, mists and sounds. A brief presentation will be conducted to familiarize visitors with ghost hunting techniques before the investigation starts. Park staff has conducted two investigations of paranormal activity at Camp Floyd and will also present their findings at that time. They gathered evidence using sound recordings, digital and film cameras. Visitors will have the opportunity of hearing recordings, see photographs and view other paranormal evidence gathered at this historic site. All participants will be invited to present their findings at the conclusion of the investigation. After all presentations are finished, the park will host a viewing of "Ghostbusters." This event is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to view the museums at Camp Floyd prior to the event.

Junior Pony Express Program (November 15, 2008 - November 15, 2008)
Designed for kids, this program includes a workbook that discovers the history of the Pony Express and Camp Floyd. It includes artifact searches, fill-in-the blanks, crossword puzzles and more. Upon completion kids receive an official Pony Express wooden nickel as their pay from the soldiers of Camp Floyd.

Tin Lantern and Candle Workshop (December 13, 2008 - December 13, 2008)
In celebration of the holiday season and remembering simpler times past, Camp Floyd State Park hosts a candle making/punched-tin lantern making workshop on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 10 a.m. Create a peaceful holiday mood with family and friends at this pre-holiday event, which will be held in the historic, one-room Fairfield Schoolhouse. The workshop includes making holiday colored candles and creating a punched-tin lantern to hold their candle. Participants will also have the opportunity to play Civil War period children's games, all of which can be purchased in the gift shop and make great Christmas presents. The Camp Floyd Museum and Stagecoach Inn will also be available for participants to enjoy. Each participant will need to bring a tin can filled with water and frozen, while the park will provide all other materials. Participants need only to pay the normal park admission fee ($2 per person, $6 per family). An adult must accompany children under eight.
