YOUTH SNOWMOBILE EDUCATION

Your safety is our number one concern. Utah law requires youth, ages eight to 16 (or until they get their state issued driver license), to complete the Utah State Parks and Recreation Know Before You Go! snowmobile education course before operating on public lands, roads or trails.  It is illegal for any child under the age of eight to operate a snowmobile on any public land.

The online youth snowmobile education course fee is $30 per student and must be passed only once.  When the test has been passed, you will have the opportunity to print out a temporary operator license that will be valid immediately; you will then receive your permanent operator license in the mail.

We strongly suggest that students thoroughly study the material prior to taking the test.  If you take the test and fail, you will need to pay for and take the test again.

Education classes teach:

  • safe riding
  • weight distribution
  • responsible and ethical riding
  • proper handling
  • riding within your ability
